Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Chop the butter into small cubes.
  2. In a bowl add the flour, sugar, salt, and butter cubes and mix them with your hand until all ingredients well combined. ( The mixture will be a little grainy).
  3. Press the shortbread dough into the pan. 
  4. Bake in preheated oven at 180C for 20 minutes.

  6. Heat sugar in the saucepan. The sugar will begin to melt in a minute or two. As the sugar begins to melt, stir with a whisk or wooden spoon. The sugar will form clumps and will start to melt at the edges of the pan. Keep whisking until all of the sugar has melted.
  7. Add the butter to the pan. Whisk until the butter has melted.
  8. Once the butter has melted, take the pan off the heat. Then slowly add the cream to the pan and continue to whisk to incorporate.
  9. Whisk until caramel sauce is smooth. Let cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then blend it with a hand blender until it becomes smooth.
  10. Pour the caramel sauce over the shortbread crust.
  11. Place it in the fridge for 1 hour.
  12. Cut it into fingers and dip them into the melted chocolate. Then line them on parchment paper to set.
  13. Leave them to set at room temperature for 20 minutes.
