How to make Sutlaç recipe:

 

  • In a pot add the washed rice and add 2 glasses of water.

  • Turn on the stove on medium heat and place the pot on the stove. Let it cook, stirring occasionally, until the rice completely absorbs its water and becomes soft.

  • Add 1 liter of milk and vanilla to the boiled rice and mix.

  • Then let it boil for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. In the meantime, add half a glass of milk to 3 tablespoons of cornstarch in a small bowl and mix until dissolved.

  • Add 1 glass of granulated sugar, milk and cornstarch mixture to the boiling rice. Continue cooking, stirring occasionally, until this mixture thickens.

  • After about 10 minutes, the rice pudding will reach the consistency we want.

  • Then pour the rice pudding onto oven plates and place it on a baking tray. Before putting the rice pudding in the oven, add water to reach about half of the bowls.

  • Put the rice pudding on the top shelf of the oven and let it cook and take a nice brown color on the top.

  • Let them come to room temperature for about 10 minutes, then transfer them to the refrigerator to rest for about 2-3 hours.
